Giants-Redskins remains Sunday night tilt for Week 13

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The NFL decided to keep its original schedule for Week 13 intact and leave the Giants-Redskins game as the prime time matchup for Sunday night.

The Giants have won four in a row after a disastrous 0-6 start to vault back into contention in the middling NFC East. A win this Sunday against Dallas would leave the Giants and Cowboys each 5-6 and just one game behind first- place Philadelphia, which has a bye this Sunday.

Washington is just 3-7 heading into a Monday night contest at San Francisco.

There were no other changes to the Week 13 schedule. It was previously announced that the game between the New England Patriots and Houston Texans would switch to 1 p.m. ET and the rematch between AFC West contenders Denver and Kansas City would switch to 4:25 p.m.

The NFL uses "flexible scheduling" on Sundays in Weeks 11-17. It tries to ensure quality matchups in all NFL Sunday time slots in those weeks and gives teams a chance to play their way onto prime time and into the late-afternoon time slot on CBS or FOX.
