Jets make cuts before deadline Florham Park, NJ (Sports Network) - The Jets reduced their roster to 60 but still need to cut seven more players before Friday's 9 p.m. deadline. Defensive end Jay Richardson, quarterback Matt Simms and sixth-round rookie offensive lineman Robert Griffin were among those waived. Defensive back D'Anton Lynn, son of Jets running backs coach Anthony Lynn, also was cut. Others released included wide receivers Joseph Collins and Eron Riley, defensive lineman Martin Tevaseu, punter Spencer Lanning, linebackers Marcus Dowtin and Brett Roy, defensive backs LeQuan Lewis and Julian Posey and tight end Tarren Lloyd. 08/31 15:18:00 ET |
