Trio of Broncos hit with suspensions Englewood, CO (Sports Network) - Three members of the Denver Broncos have been hit with suspensions regarding violations of the league's policy on performance enhancing substances. Linebacker D.J. Williams and defensive tackle Ryan McBean were slammed with six-game bans and tight end Virgil Green was given a four-game suspension, according to a statement issued by the NFL on Friday. The Broncos issued a statement of their own shortly after the suspensions were handed down: "We are aware of this matter, but due to the confidentiality of the program, we are unable to provide additional comment on the situation." Williams totaled 90 tackles and five sacks in 13 games a season ago, while McBean racked up 33 tackles in 16 games -- three starts -- in 2011. Green, a rookie out of Nevada, posted just three receptions for 24 yards over 15 games (three starts) last year. All three players are able to participate in all off-season activities as well as all preseason practices and exhibition contests. 03/09 18:44:16 ET |
