Description: Birdman scored 16 points on perfect 7-of-7 shooting Wednesday in a Game 1 victory over the Pacers.
Insight: He also recorded five rebounds and three blocked shots. The tatted-up big man has turned into a sensational role player for Miami. Andersen is averaging 7.9 ppg on 82.9 percent shooting this postseason. He's also shooting a respectable 75 percent from the free throw line.

Description: The Birdman will take flight Wednesday against the Raptors. He'll be active for the Heat, coach Erik Spoelstra said. SOURCE: Ethan J. Skolnick, Palm Beach Post
Insight: Andersen is working on a 10-day contract with Miami but should stick around longer than that since the Heat are desperate for rebounding. However, he won't offer fantasy owners much.

1/20/2013 3:35:00 PM
Description: The Birdman is back. Chris Andersen has signed a 10-day contract with the Miami Heat.
Insight: Always a fan favorite, the 6-foot-10 Andersen (5.3 ppg, 4.6 rpg for Denver in 2011-12) should be able to help the Heat in the rebounding department. Currently, Miami is second to last in that category at just 38.8 rpg.

7/18/2012 8:27:00 PM
Description: Denver used its amnesty clause to waive center Chris Andersen on Wednesday.
Insight: "Birdman" is always an exciting player to watch and if tattoos counted for points in fantasy, he'd probably lead the league. Unfortunately, Andersen only played in about half of the Nuggets' games last season and though he's an adequate rebounder (5.2 rpg for his career) and shotblocker (1.4 bpg for Denver in 2011-12), Andersen has never been a strong offensive player (5.4 ppg in 482 career games). He'll have little to no value in fantasy next season.

5/12/2012 12:18:00 PM
Description: Nuggets power forward/center Chris Andersen has been excused from all team-related activities indefinitely due to legal problems.
Insight: Andersen could post a big scoring game every once in a while, but he's more likely to help you in rebounds and blocked shots. His absence makes center JaVale McGee a viable fantasy option.

2/8/2012 3:35:00 PM
Description: Nuggets power forward/center Chris Andersen will start on Wednesday for the injured Danilo Gallinari.
Insight: Andersen can post a big scoring game every once in a while, but he's more likely to help you in rebounds and blocked shots.

4/12/2011 9:51:00 AM
Description: Chris Andersen returned from injury in emphatic fashion with 14 points, 12 boards, four blocks, and two steals in 22 minutes.
Insight: We called it earlier on Monday for his ability to block shots, but nobody could have expected this big of a line. Unless your championship is in a battle for blocks, there should be better options on Wednesday.

4/11/2011 2:05:00 PM
Description: Chris Andersen and Arron Afflalo will return to the lineup for Monday. Denver will need them as they will not have Danilo Gallinari, Al Harrington, and Wilson Chandler. SOURCE: Denver Post
Insight: Afflalo is a huge gamble to being starting in most formats after missing missing so much time with a hammy while Birdman could be worth the risk for owners seeking blocks. Expect the J.R. Smith, Raymond Felton, and Ty Lawson to carry the torch offensively.

3/26/2011 12:35:00 AM
Description: Chris Andersen was let out of the birdcage by erupting to the tune of 17 points on a perfect 7-of-7, 11 boards, two steals, and five swats in the win over Washington.
Insight: Prrrrrrrrrrrr. That's a bird call, by the way. Serious congratulations go out to anyone that had Andersen going tonight. As nice as this line is, it's hard to recommend him in anything outside of a deep league at this time. After the weekend, the Nuggets do not play until Wednesday in the semifinal fantasy match-ups.

12/6/2010 9:00:00 AM
Description: Andersen will miss the next 10-14 days after suffering a small fracture in a lower left vertebra, according to the Denver Post.
Insight: Andersen had six blocks in the game against the Clippers, but the Nuggets will have to find another source of energy off the bench for the next two weeks. (RapidDraft.com)

11/22/2010 9:05:00 AM
Description: Andersen will likely make his season debut this week, according to Nuggets.com.
Insight: Andersen has been out while rehabbing his right knee. He averaged 5.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks for Denver in 2009-10. (RapidDraft.com)

11/21/2010 7:01:00 PM
Description: Andersen (knee) practiced Sunday and will be listed as probable for Monday's game versus the Warriors.
Insight: It sounds as if Andersen is ahead of schedule because head coach George Karl previously said that Andersen was more likely to return Friday in Chicago. (RapidDraft.com)

11/20/2010 4:00:00 PM
Description: Andersen is expected to practice Sunday and could make his season debut Monday versus the Warriors.
Insight: Minutes should not be hard to come by with Kenyon Martin out, but it might take him a while to get up to speed. (RapidDraft.com)

11/12/2010 10:05:00 AM
Description: Andersen rehab is progressing to the point where he dunked in practice, according to the Denver Post. Andersen had offseason knee surgery, but is eying a Thanksgiving return.
Insight: The Nuggets are playing pretty well, but Andersen is just another big off the bench while the team is without Kenyon Martin. He won't have a huge fantasy impact. (RapidDraft.com)

10/30/2010 11:03:00 AM
Description: Andersen is progressing in his rehab and is targeting a December 1 return, according to the Denver Post.
Insight: Andersen is a key piece off the Nugget bench. If Nuggets are hit by frontcourt injuries, he could be someone to look at in fantasy for rebounds and blocks. (RapidDraft.com)

10/19/2010 7:22:00 PM
Description: George Karl expects Chris Andersen to return to the Nuggets around December 1. SOURCE: Nuggets.com
Insight: The Nuggets are extremely thin in the frontcourt and Kenyon Martin will out until January. Nene will carry the load and has what is almost an insurmountable task of staying healthy. Denver has almost no choice but to trust Shelden Williams with a spot in the rotation, thus making him a sleeper in deep leagues.

9/8/2010 8:03:00 PM
Description: Chris Andersen said that the progress of his knee rehab has been fantastic. SOURCE: NBA.com
Insight: He is still very questionable for the start of the season and really shouldn't be drafted. The Birdman is an exceptional shot blocker and could become more of an offensive factor with the Nuggets' future not looking so bright.

8/19/2010 9:36:00 PM
Description: Chris Andersen will likely miss significant time to recover from his recent knee and finger injuries. SOURCE: Denver Post
Insight: The Nuggets might be slightly shorthanded at the forward positions and it's something they could possibly address in Melo deal.

7/15/2010 1:09:00 AM
Description: Chris Andersen had a surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left ring finger. SOURCE: Yahoo!
Insight: The left ring finger isn't as important to basketball players as it is for gold-digging wives. He should be fine, but the addition of Al Harrington hurts his value.
