Bulls sign Kirk Hinrich
Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago Bulls signed guard Kirk Hinrich on Monday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Sun-Times reported in early July that it is a two-year contract worth approximately $6 million.
Hinrich, who spent the first seven years of his career with the Bulls, averaged 6.6 points, 2.8 assists and 2.1 rebounds in 48 games -- 31 starts -- for the Hawks during the lockout-shortened 2011-12 season.
"We are pleased to be able to bring Kirk back to Chicago. His ability to play both spots in the backcourt will help us immensely this season," said Bulls general manager Gar Forman. "Kirk's tenacity and passion for the game complement our style of play, and we look forward to seeing him back in a Bulls uniform."
The 31-year-old guard has career averages of 12.5 points, 5.4 assists and 3.2 rebounds in 634 career games with the Bulls, Wizards and Hawks.
