Description: Oakland right-hander Jesse Chavez didn't allow a hit until the sixth inning Saturday against the Red Sox.
Insight: An unknown at the start of the year, Chavez (7 IP, 3 H, 4 BB, 4 K's) has developed into one of the most reliable starting pitchers in the American League. A wild pitch by Luke Gregorson in the eighth inning allowed Boston to tie the score at one, denying Chavez what would have been his seventh victory of the season.

Description: Athletics starter Jesse Chavez struck out nine and walked none over seven innings of one-run ball Wednesday afternoon at Minnesota.
Insight: The A's provided him with a four-run lead before he even threw a pitch and he was in line for the win but Jim Johnson had another ninth-inning meltdown. Chavez has picked up two no decisions this season but owns a 1.38 ERA, a 1.00 WHIP and a 13/2 K/BB in 13 innings. He had a 2.22 ERA and a 25/6 K/BB in 28 1/3 innings this spring.

Description: Jesse Chavez of the Las Vegas 51s is dominating in the Pacific Coast League. In eight starts, Chavez is 5-1 with a 2.63 ERA, a stunning 0.83 WHIP and 47 Ks in 48 innings pitched.
Insight: The Blue Jays have a solid starting rotation, but should they need him, Chavez could be a solid replacement for Toronto and for your fantasy roster.
