Description: Royals designated hitter Raul Ibanez is a career .417 hitter (15-for-36) with four home runs versus Angels Game 1 starter Jered Weaver.
Insight: The 42-year-old saw just seven official at-bats in all of September and likely won't be in the lineup, but if he's thrown in there he does have a favorable history.

Description: Royals designated hitter Raul Ibanez will get a rare back-to-back opportunity Monday, facing one of his old teams, the New York Yankees.
Insight: The 42-year-old has seen just 33 at-bats since the All-Star break. He was 1-for-4 Sunday. Josh Willingham (1-for-6 with three strikeouts versus Michael Pineda) will sit for a second straight day.

Description: Royals designated hitter Raul Ibanez hasn't seen an at-bat in over a week, but could get a shot Sunday in a favorable matchup.
Insight: The 42-year-old has only seen 29 at-bats since the All-Star break, but he's a career .471 hitter with two home runs versus Rangers starter Scott Baker. If he crack's the starting lineup he might be worth a flier. Update: He's in the starting lineup.

Insight: At age 42, this might be the last we see of Ibanez in the major leagues. He wasn't bringing much to the table with just three homers and 21 RBI in 166 at bats. Ibanez's batting average has been under .200 most of the season.

Description: Los Angeles Angels DH Raul Ibanez will take a seat for Tuesday's series opener in Philadelphia.
Insight: No DH makes it tough for Ibanez to get into the lineup. He's batting an ugly .139 with three homers and 18 RBI this season and has played only seven games in the outfield. Ibanez played three seasons in Philadelphia and should get a nice ovation from the fans whenever he gets into the batter's box.

Description: Los Angeles DH Raul Ibanez will take a seat for Monday's series opener against the Blue Jays.
Insight: Ibanez has been useless recently, collecting just one hit in his last 24 at bats (.042 AVG). Even with 18 RBI in 32 games, Ibanez isn't worth owning in any fantasy leagues right now.

Cold5/6/2014 1:38:00 PM
Description: Don't bother with Angels DH Raul Ibanez on Tuesday against the Yankees. He's 3-for-17 (.176) in his career against starter Hiroki Kuroda.
Insight: Ibanez has gone 0-for-14 over his last five games and is hitting .144 with three home runs and 30 strikeouts in 90 at-bats this season. Kuroda is right-handed so Ibanez will probably be in the lineup, but he's never had success against the Yankees starter.

Cold4/28/2014 11:58:00 AM
Description: Angels DH Raul Ibanez is just a .071 career hitter versus Indians right-hander Justin Masterson (1-for-14).
Insight: Ibanez has been sidelined by illness, though he did pinch hit on Sunday. He's hit just .153 with three homers, 15 RBI and a .524 OPS in 72 at-bats this season. Don't expect to see him on Monday.

Cold4/27/2014 6:57:00 PM
Description: An illness will keep Angels DH Raul Ibanez out of the lineup Sunday night against the Yankees, according to Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register.
Insight: Ibanez has hit just .155 with three homers, 15 RBI and a .531 OPS in 71 at-bats this season. Of course, he also looked washed up last April (.158) and batted .254 with 27 home runs over 107 games after that.

Cold4/26/2014 10:53:00 AM
Description: Angels DH Raul Ibanez is not in Saturday's starting lineup.
Insight: Los Angeles is going with David Freese at 3B, Ian Stewart at 1B and Albert Pujols at DH. Ibanez is hitting .157 this season.

Cold4/20/2014 11:35:00 AM
Description: Angels DH Raul Ibanez will take a seat Sunday against the Tigers.
Insight: Los Angeles is going with David Freese at DH, Ian Stewart at third base and Brennan Boesch in right field. Ibanez is 1-for-21 over his last five games and hitting .150 this season.

Cold4/16/2014 9:56:00 AM
Description: Angels DH Raul Ibanez went 0-for-6 Tuesday against Oakland.
Insight: He has three homers and 12 RBI this season but his average is down to .163 and he has struck out 17 times in 49 at-bats.

3/31/2014 2:35:00 PM
Description: Angels DH Raul Ibanez could be in for a rude awakening Monday against his former team.
Insight: He's going up against Mariners right-hander Felix Hernandez, who has limited Ibanez to two hits in 11 previous encounters. Ibanez's next home run will be the 301st of his major league career.

12/18/2013 4:23:00 PM
Description: Raul Ibanez's new one-year deal with Anaheim will be worth $2.75 million according to Sports Illustrated.
Insight: That's exactly how much he made last season with Seattle. It's amazing how productive Ibanez continues to be in his early 40s but fantasy owners have to know the end is coming sooner or later. We wouldn't take him until later in the draft.

12/18/2013 11:23:00 AM
Description: The Angels are close to signing veteran outfielder/DH Raul Ibanez. SOURCE: Chris Cotillo, SB Nation
Insight: It sounds like it will be a one-year deal. Ibanez wasn't able to hit for a high average last season (.242) but his 29 homers led the team. With Mark Trumbo out of the picture, he could be an everyday DH.

Cold8/25/2013 11:38:00 AM
Description: Seattle left fielder Raul Ibanez is only hitting .198 with one homer since the All-Star break, but his matchup with Angels starter Jered Weaver Sunday is a good one for the veteran outfielder.
Insight: Ibanez, who hit .267 with 24 homers and an .892 OPS in the first half, is 15-for-33 (.455) with four homers against Weaver.

8/5/2013 11:53:00 AM
Description: Seattle left fielder Raul Ibanez is a career .367 hitter with three homers in 30 at-bats against Toronto right-hander R.A. Dickey.
Insight: Ibanez has cooled off significantly in the second half, batting just .175 without a home run in 14 games after blasting 24 long balls in 73 games before the All-Star break.

Cold7/31/2013 10:10:00 AM
Description: Seattle left fielder Raul Ibanez hasn't homered since July 12 and is just 5-for-37 (.135) with 15 strikeouts over his last 10 games, but his matchup with John Lackey Wednesday makes him a good fantasy option.
Insight: Ibanez has faced the Red Sox starter 57 times in his career and is a .386 hitter with five doubles, one homer and five walks.

Hot7/13/2013 10:15:00 AM
Description: Seattle outfielder/designated hitter Raul Ibanez is a career .467 (14-for-30) with four homers and seven RBI against Angels starter Jered Weaver.
Insight: Ibanez is on a roll. The 41-year-old hit two more home runs on Friday night to bring his total to 24 for the season with 54 RBIs. He's been one of the biggest fantasy surprises over the first three months. Start him.

Hot7/7/2013 11:56:00 AM
Description: Seattle outfielder/designated hitter Raul Ibanez has been a machine against Cincinnati righthander Bronson Arroyo (.417 AVG in 12 lifetime at bats).
Insight: Ibanez has been killing it lately with six homers in his last ten games. Sunday he'll hit cleanup and get the start in left field against the Reds.
