Insight: Narveson "felt a pop" when throwing a curveball in a bullpen session Saturday. Former Brewers starter Ben Sheets suffered the same injury in 2007 and missed six weeks. Narveson missed most of last season due to a torn labrum and torn rotator cuff and started this season in the bullpen. His injury will give Mike Fiers and Wily Peralta more leash in the rotation.

Insight: Narveson reportedly looked fantastic in a bullpen session in front of a trio of trainers on Wednesday. The lefty only made two starts last year and recorded a 7.00 ERA in nine innings. He did win 23 games over 2010 and 2011 but with an ERA in the high fours.

Insight: Narveson doesn't have any value in mixed leagues but this doesn't sound good for those who own him in deeper NL-only formats. According to, either Marco Estrada or Wily Peralta will take Narveson's spot in the rotation.

Insight: It's definitely time to pick him up in deeper leagues. Narveson showed good skills in 2010 but didn't get good results. He could really break through this season.

Insight: He didn't factor into the decision but this was a great first starter for a team that really needed one. Narveson showed decent skills last season despite mediocre surface stats. He should be owned in deep leagues.
