Insight: Gordon hit his home run in the second inning. The umpires called the game after five and a half innings. Gordon was 1-for-1 with a walk in the shortened game. He is hitting .271 with five home runs and 23 RBI this season.

Insight: Fantasy owners have to be disappointed with Gordon through the first three weeks of the season. He has sat out a lot of games and hasn't found his rhythm at the plate. Gordon is batting .239 with one home run in 46 at-bats.

Insight: Royals manager Ned Yost had said that Gordon would sit in some day games after a night game and here we are again as he sat last Thursday as well. Gordon is a career .252 hitter against left-handers vs. .275 against right-handers.

Gordon also had a bases-clearing double in the third on a broke-bat flair down the right field line. He is batting .316 with eight RBI in five postseason games.
