Description: Angels minor league outfielder Brennan Boesch is tearing up the PCL, batting .320 with 19 HR, 68 RBI and a .979 OPS at Triple-A Salt Lake.
Insight: Boesch was up for a couple of weeks in April, but didn't do much. He could be a September call up, but for now his way is blocked by a solid Angels outfield of Mike Trout, Josh Hamilton and Kole Calhoun.

4/5/2013 9:32:00 AM
Description: Yankees outfielder Brennan Boesch is a career .583 hitter (7-for-12) versus Detroit starter Doug Fister with a home run and a 1.615 OPS
Insight: Boesch only got one at-bat in the series with the Red Sox, but if Joe Girardi gives him a start on Friday he could be a solid one day play. Boesch averaged .259 and 14 HRs over his first three seasons in the majors, all with the Tigers.

3/15/2013 5:45:00 PM
Description: The Yankees have picked up former Tigers outfielder Brennan Boesch, according to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com.
Insight: Boesch was released Wednesday. The outfielder could start on Opening Day for the injury plagued Yankees. However, he regressed badly in 2012, becoming a heavy groundball hitter and experiencing a decline from 2.37 K/BB to 4.0 K/BB.

3/13/2013 7:07:00 PM
Description: The Tigers have released outfielder Brennan Boesch.
Insight: Detroit has Austin Jackson, Andy Dirks, Torii Hunter and Avisail Garcia so Boesch wasn't even going to be the fourth outfielder with the Tigers. Boesch started as the No. 2 hitter last season in front of Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder but slumped so badly that he was soon moved to the bottom of the order. He ended up posting a .659 OPS.

12/12/2012 10:09:00 PM
Description: Jon Morosi from Fox Sports reports that the Mariners have talked to the Tigers about trading for outfielder Brennan Boesch.
Insight: Boesch lost his job in right field to Avisail Garcia late in the season thanks to a pitiful second half (.237, 4 HR, 23 RBI). Seattle has historically been a pitcher's park so we wouldn't expect much from Boesch if he ends up in a Mariners uniform next season.

10/6/2012 1:15:00 PM
Description: Slumping outfielder Brennan Boesch didn't make the Tigers' postseason roster.
Insight: Boesch is hitting just .196 since September 1st and really hasn't had a very productive year for the Tigers (.240, 12 HR, 54 RBI). Without Boesch, Detroit's outfield will feature Austin Jackson in center, Andy Dirks in left and either Quintin Berry or Don Kelly in right.

Cold9/20/2012 12:38:00 PM
Description: Detroit right fielder Brennan Boesch is not in the lineup Thursday against Oakland.
Insight: Boesch was benched yesterday as well. It looks like Boesch's poor offensive performance (.222 since the start of the month) has landed him in a time-share with fellow outfielders Quinton Berry (.272, 2 HR, 27 RBI) and Avisail Garcia (.320, 0 HR, 1 RBI).

Cold9/8/2012 8:39:00 PM
Description: Tigers rightfielder Brennan Boesch is on the sidelines for Saturday's game versus the Angels.
Insight: Boesch is hitting .174 over his last nine contests. His .243 average through 122 games this season is the lowest of his career.

8/29/2012 8:00:00 PM
Description: Detroit outfielder Brennan Boesch will be on the bench for Wednesday night's game versus the Royals.
Insight: Boesch hasn't had an extra base hit in a game since August 4th. Jeff Baker (.261, 4 HR, 24 RBI) will get the nod in right field Wednesday.

Cold8/25/2012 5:53:00 PM
Description: Tigers right fielder Brennan Boesch is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game versus the Angels.
Insight: Boesch is in the midst of a 2-for-18 dry spell at the plate.

8/11/2012 7:58:00 PM
Description: Detroit outfielder Brennan Boesch won't start Saturday night's contest versus the Rangers.
Insight: Jeff Baker (.277, 4 HR, 22 RBI) will start in right and bat sixth for the Tigers.

7/31/2012 6:08:00 PM
Description: Though 10 of his 11 homers this season have come against right-handed pitching, Tigers outfielder Brennan Boesch does not make for a good fantasy play Tuesday against the Red Sox.
Insight: Boesch (.246, 11 HR, 44 RBIs) is just 1-for-12 in his career against Boston starter Josh Beckett. The outfielder came into Monday 3-for-15 with three RBIs in his career against Boston righty Clay Buchholz and went 1-for-4. Keep him on the bench for the second straight game.

7/30/2012 4:30:00 PM
Description: Though 10 of his 11 homers this season have come against right-handed pitching, Tigers outfielder Brennan Boesch does not make for a good fantasy play Monday against the Red Sox.
Insight: Boesch (.246, 11 HR, 44 RBIs) is just 3-for-15 with three RBIs in his career against Boston righty Clay Buchholz. Keep him on the bench Monday.

Hot7/22/2012 10:44:00 PM
Description: Detroit outfielder Brennan Boesch homered for the second straight game Sunday against the White Sox.
Insight: Boesch (.254, 11 HR, 43 RBIs) struggled in the season's first three months but he's turned it on in July, batting .380 with four homers and 16 RBIs in 15 games.

Cold7/2/2012 7:00:00 PM
Description: Detroit outfielder Brennan Boesch will sit out again for the Tigers on Monday.
Insight: Boesch (.232, 7 HRs, 27 RBIs) has been on the sidelines for three of Detroit's last four games. Clearly, manager Jim Leyland has grown tired of waiting for him to break out of his season-long slump. Boesch is too unreliable to warrant a spot on any fantasy rosters right now.

Cold7/1/2012 1:05:00 PM
Description: Detroit outfielder Brennan Boesch will be on the sidelines for Sunday's series finale versus the Rays.
Insight: Boesch (.232, 7 HRs, 27 RBIs) is 3-20 (.150) over his last six games and hasn't homered since June 13. Consider dropping Boesch if you haven't done so already.

5/6/2012 10:17:00 AM
Description: Brennan Boesch will be dropped from second to eighth in the Tigers' batting order on Sunday. Andy Dirks will hit second.
Insight: We had high hopes for Boesch this season because of his cushy spot batting in front of Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder, but he just hasn't produced, hitting .213 in 108 at-bats. It remains to be seen if this move will be permanent, but either way, Boesch is not a player who should be owned right now. Maybe moving down in the order will allow him to get more comfortable at the plate.

4/14/2012 7:03:00 PM
Description: Brennan Boesch hit his first home run of the season on Saturday.
Insight: That's five RBIs in the past two games for Boesch. The homer was also Boesch's first extra base hit of the season, so he could be ready to bust out.

4/12/2012 6:01:00 PM
Description: After a slow start, Brennan Boesch finally delivered a useful fantasy line on Thursday, going 2-for-4 with four RBIs.
Insight: Big things are expected of Boesch since he occupies the No. 2 spot in the order, ahead of sluggers Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder. He had been 4-for-23 this season with one RBI, one run and zero walks. He still has no extra-base hits, but we'll take the four RBIs any day.

4/1/2012 4:19:00 PM
Description: Brennan Boesch sat out Sunday's game against the Astros with neck spasms.
Insight: Boesch was fairly productive last season (.283, 16 HRs, 54 RBIs) and he's been Babe Ruth-like in spring training (six homers, second-most in the majors). Hitting in a lethal lineup this season should lead to a bump in Boesch's RBI numbers as well. Boesch could be a player on the rise.
