Description: Padres starter Andrew Cashner nearly threw his second straight complete game shutout as he defeated the Giants, 3-2, on Saturday.

Cashner exited and saw the tying run reach third base, but San Diego held onto the victory. Cashner has won his last three starts with an ERA of 1.50 over that span. He is 5-7 with a 2.21 ERA in 18 starts this year.

Description: Padres righty Andrew Cashner continues to be a victim of poor run support this season.
Insight: Cashner's last three starts have essentially told the story of his 2014 campaign (1-1, 2.25 ERA). His 3-7 overall record has not been indicative of how well he has pitched this year, however his 2.40 ERA is a nice sight for owners. With a 1.54 ERA at home, Cashner is a recommended play tonight against an inconsistent Phillies lineup.
