Description: Padres closer Huston Street (groin) will pitch in a game for the first time this spring on Saturday, according to Jeff Sanders of the Union-Tribune. Street has been dealing with a minor groin strain.
Insight: Manager Bud Black hasn't decided whether it will be a minor league game or a Cactus League one. Street had 33 saves, a 2.70 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP in 56 2/3 innings last season, but he has made at least one DL stint in each of the last four seasons.

Insight: Luke Gregerson will serve as the primary closer. Street is usually good for one or two DL stints per season, so this shouldn't be a surprise to fantasy owners. The right-hander has 11 saves this year, but his ERA is 4.43.

Insight: Street (0.75 ERA, 21-for-21 in save chances) had been on an incredible run for the Padres, holding his opponents scoreless in each of his last 22 appearances. Look for Dale Thayer (3.60) to take over the closer's role while Street is sidelined.

Description: Closer Huston Street and the Padres have agreed to a two-year, $14 million contract extension.
Insight: Street, who appeared in his first All-Star game earlier in the month, has been dominant in his first season in San Diego (17-for-17 in save opportunities, 0.91 ERA in 29.2 innings). The Padres aren't known for giving out huge contracts but this marks the second big signing they've made in the last week as the team also inked outfielder Carlos Quentin (.270, 9 HRs, 23 RBIs) to a new deal last Sunday.

Insight: When Street initially left the game, it was believed that he had a shoulder injury, so this is somewhat positive news. However, Street may still have to go on the disabled list. Padres manager Bud Black has already ruled his closer out for Saturday. Andrew Cashner would likely close if Street had to miss time.

Insight: Street pitched a perfect inning at AAA Colorado Springs and felt no pain. He has 29 saves and six blown saves this season with a mediocre ERA of 4.06 and a WHIP of 1.176.

Description: Rockies closer Huston Street did allow a run in the 9th inning but held on to pick up his 9th save of the year.
Insight: Street has been excellent this season, allowing runs in just 2 outings and posting a 15-4 K-BB ratio. He is a #1 fantasy closer as long as he stays healthy, which is always the question with Street.

Description: Rockies closer Huston Street worked a scoreless 9th inning against the Mets, picking up his 5th save of the year. He added two K's to his performance.
Insight: Street appears to have regained his form and is one of the reliable closer so far in 2011. He does have an injury history, however, so make sure you keep an eye on his performance throughout the season.

Insight: Don't expect to see Street today. He pitched in the first two games of the season and threw plenty of pitches last night. But, he got the save, helped fantasy owners and kept his job safe.
