Description: Yankees starter Chris Capuano outdueled Tigers starter Justin Verlander Wednesday night. He lasted 6 2/3 innings, struck out eight, walked one and allowed one unearned run on five hits.
Insight: The Yankees faced three AL Cy Young Award winners -- Max Scherzer, David Price, Verlander -- in the three-game series and countered with Brandon McCarthy, Hiroki Kuroda and Capuano, but New York still won two out of three. Capuano is 0-1 with a 2.84 ERA in three starts since he joined the Yankees.

Description: The Yankees will start Chris Capuano Saturday against the Blue Jays, according to Bryan Hoch.
Insight: He'll replace Chase Whitley in the rotation. New York picked up Capuano from the Rockies for cash on Thursday. He had a 4.55 ERA in 31 2/3 innings as a middle reliever for the Red Sox earlier this season and isn't likely to be fantasy-relevant in standard leagues.

Description: The Red Sox have designated left-hander Chris Capuano for assignment. SOURCE: Comcast Sportsnet New England
Insight: The team needed to clear a roster spot for Clay Buchholz, who was just activated from the disabled list. Capuano pitched well early in the year but was done in by an awful June (22.50 ERA in five appearances). The 35-year-old has no fantasy value.

Insight: With Ryan Dempster taking the year off, Capuano (4-7, 4.26 ERA) will function as the team's primary long reliever. He'll be worth an add if one of Boston's starters gets hurt.

Description: The Red Sox and Mariners have both been in contact with free agent lefthander Chris Capuano. SOURCE: Ken Rosenthal, Fox Sports and Jon Heyman, CBS Sports
Insight: Capuano (4-7, 4.26 ERA in 24 games with the Dodgers in 2013) makes sense for Boston now that Ryan Dempster has decided not to pitch this year. The 35-year-old lefthander is reportedly looking for a two-year deal.

Description: Dodgers lefthander Chris Capuano was pulled from his start Friday because of a strained groin. SOURCE: Orange County Register
Insight: He only lasted an inning and two thirds. Capuano (4-7, 4.34 ERA) is questionable to make his next start Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.

9/1/2013 8:43:00 AM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Chris Capuano had his best start since Aug. 3 Saturday against the Padres, firing seven innings and striking out seven while allowing one run on eight hits.
Insight: Capuano needs to keep pitching like this to hold off Edinson Volquez, who was picked up after being released by the Padres. Capuano had a 4.41 ERA in August and isn't an option for fantasy owners at this time.

Hot8/3/2013 7:55:00 PM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Chris Capuano posted his second consecutive solid outing, yielding just six hits and zero runs over 6 1/3 IP.
Insight: Capuano was coming off 6 2/3 innings of shut out baseball and is finally starting to yield quality results. The long-term problem is inconsistency - in his last eight outings he's given up zero runs five times, but yielded five earned runs the other three times.

7/23/2013 10:36:00 PM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Chris Capuano gave up five runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings Tuesday at Toronto.
Insight: Capuano was solid last year, posting a 3.72 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP in 198 1/3 innings, but after Tuesday's outing his ERA this year is 5.03 and his WHIP is 1.44. He's too up-and-down to own in any leagues.

6/23/2013 10:05:00 PM
Description: Dodgers pitcher Chris Capuano only lasted five innings and 74 pitches Sunday, but they were effective. He limited the Padres to four hits and didn't walk a batter or allow a run.
Insight: Capuano was pitching on short rest after starting one game of a doubleheader against the Yankees Wednesday. The lefty has allowed just seven hits with a 0.00 ERA and a 9/0 K/BB in 11 innings since returning from the DL. Feel free to use him for his next start at home against the Phillies.

Description: Dodgers lefty Chris Capuano is an option to pitch Sunday on short rest, according to Bill Shaikin of the LA Times.
Insight: Capuano returned from the DL and threw six scoreless innings of three-hit ball Wednesday against the Yankees, but he only threw 84 pitches. Due to Wednesday's doubleheader, the Dodgers will either have to go with someone on short rest or call up someone for a spot start.

6/19/2013 10:08:00 PM
Description: Dodgers lefty Chris Capuano dominated Wednesday in his return from the disabled list.
Insight: Making his first start since May 29th, Capuano allowed three hits over six shutout innings. Don Mattingly played it safe and took Capuano (2-4, 4.62 ERA) out after only 84 pitches. He should be back around 100 pitches in his next start Tuesday against the Giants.

Description: Dodgers lefthander Chris Capuano (lat) has been placed on the 15-day disabled list, according to ESPNLosAngeles.com.
Insight: Capuano was scratched from Monday's start due to what was thought to be a triceps injury, but it is his left lat muscle that is hurt. Stephen Fife, who started Monday and allowed one run on five hits in 5 1/3 innings against the Padres, is likely to take Capuano's rotation spot but is only a matchup play.

5/18/2013 10:01:00 PM
Description: Dodgers starter Chris Capuano allowed five hits and one run over 7 1/3 innings Saturday against the Braves, but Kenley Jansen served up two homers to blow a 1-0 lead.
Insight: Capuano has surrendered 10 hits and two earned runs and walked just one over his last 13 2/3 innings. He was a solid fantasy starter last year and isn't a bad option going forward.
