He felt more soreness after making a throw home from left field on Wednesday and served as the designated hitter Thursday. "This happens every spring training," he said. Description: According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, outfielder Shin-Soo Choo's deal with Texas is for seven years and $130 million.
Insight: Choo turned down a $140 million contract with the Yankees, but the Texas deal is more favorable because the state has no income tax. The 31-year-old hit .285 with a .423 on-base percentage, 21 homers, 20 steals and 107 runs with Cincinnati last season and should duplicate those numbers as Ian Kinsler's replacement at the top of the Rangers' batting order. Choo's contract also means Nelson Cruz will not be returning to Texas.
