Injuries end Montana State player's career
Bozeman, MT (Sports Network) - Montana State defensive end Brad Smith has ended his playing career because of lingering injuries, the Big Sky university announced Wednesday.
Smith began his MSU career with a flourish as a redshirt freshman in 2008. He played in all 12 games (seven starts) and registered 41 tackles with 9.5 for loss, including 3.5 sacks.
But he missed most of the next two seasons with injuries, including with his shoulder.
Bobcats coach Rob Ash said Smith remains on scholarship and is on schedule to graduate with his business degree.
