Villanova working toward Big East move
Villanova, PA (Sports Network) - Villanova could be moving closer toward announcing a move of its football program from the FCS level to the Big East Conference in the FBS.
The Sporting News reported Wednesday that Villanova is trying to complete a revenue plan of $25-30 million in startup costs. All of the Wildcats' teams participate in the Big East except for football, which is a member of CAA Football.
Villanova has a standing offer from the Big East to become the 10th football member of the conference, following TCU's arrival in 2012. Villanova administrators are weighing the offer and have announced the university would have a decision by April.
Villanova captured the FCS national championship in 2009.
