Georgetown announces 2011, '12 schedules
Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Georgetown University announced Friday that its football team will kick off the 2011 season by hosting Davidson on Saturday, Sept. 3.
Georgetown announced 11-game schedules for each of the next two seasons.
Following the 2011 opener against Davidson, Georgetown will host Patriot League rival Lafayette on Sept. 10. The Hoyas beat both teams last season as part of a 2-0 start to the season.
Georgetown will then play five straight road games against Yale (Sept. 17), Marist (Sept. 24), Bucknell (Oct. 1), Wagner (Oct. 8) and Howard (Oct. 15).
Colgate will pay a visit for Georgetown's Homecoming on Oct. 22. The Hoyas will then travel to Holy Cross (Oct. 29), host Fordham (Nov. 5) and conclude the regular season at Lehigh (Nov. 12)..
In 2012, Georgetown will play six of its 11 games at Multi-Sport Field. After opening the season at Davidson on Sept. 1, the Hoyas will host Wagner on Sept. 8, followed by a visit from Yale on Sept. 15.
Georgetown will then visit Princeton on Sept. 22 before returning home to host Brown on Sept. 29.
The Hoyas will play Patriot League games the rest of the way, traveling to Fordham on Oct. 6, hosting Lehigh on Oct. 13, followed by back-to-back road games at Colgate on Oct. 20 and Lafayette on Oct. 27.
The Hoyas will conclude the 2012 regular season by hosting Bucknell on Nov. 10 and Holy Cross on Nov. 17.
