Liberty reworks defensive coaching staff
Lynchburg, VA (Sports Network) - Liberty University football coach Danny Rocco announced a restructuring of his defensive coaching staff on Thursday.
Defensive coordinator Tom Clark has taken on an added role as secondary coach. He assisted with the linebackers last year.
In addition, Wally Ake has moved from secondary coach to linebackers coach and Marshall Roberts will serve as special teams coordinator and assistant secondary coach. Levern Belin will remain the defensive line coach and Manny Rojas will continue to be the assistant linebackers coach.
"Every offseason, we evaluate all aspects of our program and look to make any adjustments necessary to improve upon our previous season's results," Rocco said.
Liberty finished the 2010 season with an 8-3 record, a share of its fourth straight Big South Conference title and a No. 21 ranking in The Sports Network/Fathead.com Top 25.
The Flames will kick off the 2011 season on Sept. 3 at North Carolina State.
