VMI to play five home games in 2011 Lexington, VA (Sports Network) - VMI will kick off its 2011 season with a pair of home games and resume "The Military Classic of the South" rivalry with a visit to The Citadel. The Keydets will play five home games, including a first-ever meeting with Delaware State in its season opener on Sept. 3. William & Mary will then visit Foster Stadium the following weekend on Sept. 10. VMI's home schedule also features Big South Conference games against Charleston Southern (Oct. 15), Stony Brook (Oct. 22) and Gardner-Webb (Nov. 19). The road schedule includes the Oct. 29 visit to Charleston, S.C., to take on The Citadel and the battle for the Silver Shako. The series will resume for the first time since a 2007 meeting. Other non-conference games are against Richmond (Sept. 17) and the University of Akron (Sept. 24) from the FBS. The Keydets' Big South road games are against Coastal Carolina (Oct. 8), Liberty (Nov. 5) and Presbyterian (Nov. 12).
