Broadway leaving Grambling for NC A&T after all Grambling, LA (Sports Network) - Rod Broadway is leaving Grambling to take the vacancy at North Carolina A&T after all. Last week it was reported that Broadway was the leading candidate for the NC A&T position, but Grambling announced last Friday that the coach was staying with the Tigers. On Thursday, that all changed. "I must say that Grambling has lost a true leader and a developer of young men," said Grambling athletic director Lin Dawson in a statement. "He built a championship program and left us with a foundation to be one of the best football programs in the region, as well as Black College Sports." In four seasons at Grambling, Broadway posted a 35-12 record, including the 2008 SWAC championship. Broadway previously coached in his native state of North Carolina as the head coach at North Carolina Central, compiling a 33-11 record in four seasons. North Carolina A&T, a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, fired Alonzo Lee after the Aggies went 1-10 in 2010 and named assistant George Ragsdale as its interim head coach. 02/03 15:09:08 ET |
