Stony Brook's Priore gets three-year extension
Stony Brook, NY (Sports Network) - Stony Brook head football coach Chuck Priore has agreed to a three-year contract extension through the 2016 season.
Priore has a 28-27 record through five seasons at Stony Brook. The Seawolves have won a share of the Big South Conference championship in each of the past two seasons, and Priore was named the Big South coach of the year in 2009.
"I appreciate the trust and confidence that President (Samuel L.) Stanley and (Athletic Director) Jim Fiore have shown in me as the leader of the program," Priore said. "I am excited about the future of our program and humbled by the opportunity to lead such a special group of coaches and student-athletes at one of the premier academic institutions in the country."
Stony Brook, 6-5 this past season, open the 2011 season on Sept. 3 at UTEP.
