Georgia State to visit University of Houston
Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Georgia State's second-year football program will visit the University of Houston during the 2011 season.
The Panthers, who finished 6-5 under head coach Bill Curry in their inaugural 2010 season, will visit Robertson Stadium on Sept. 24.
It will be the FCS's program second game against an FBS opponent. The Panthers closed the 2010 season with a loss at the University of Alabama.
This spring, Georgia State will be graduating only five seniors, including just one starter in place-kicker Iain Vance.
"This game presents another tremendous opportunity for our football team to test itself against a strong Houston program on their home field," Curry said. "Houston has an impressive coach in Kevin Sumlin and an outstanding quarterback in Case Keenum, who was injured this season but has been granted a sixth year of eligibility."
Georgia State's entire 2011 schedule, which features six home games and four additional road games, will be finalized and announced in the coming weeks.
