Montana State's Ash to lead coaches association
Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Montana State University head coach Rob Ash will serve as the American Football Coaches Association's president in 2011.
Ash will move up from first vice-president, succeeding outgoing president Larry Kehres of Mount Union. Ash finished sixth in the voting for the 2010 Eddie Robinson Award, which honors the FCS coach of the year and is presented by The Sports Network and sponsored by Fathead.com.
In addition to Ash, the AFCA's officers in 2011 are first vice-president Tim Murphy of Harvard, second vice-president Tommy Tuberville of Texas Tech and third vice-president Mike Welch of Ithaca College.
