Ruston, LA (Sports Network) - Bryant Moniz was 34-of-55 through the air for 410 yards and four touchdowns as the Hawaii Warriors downed the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs 44-26 in a Western Athletic Conference game at Joe Aillet Stadium.
Royce Pollard caught 10 balls for 216 yards and three touchdowns for the Warriors (3-2, 1-0 WAC). Justin Clapp caught nine balls for 82 yards. Joey Iosefa rushed for 99 yards on 16 carries.
Nick Isham was 29-of-51 through the air for the Bulldogs (1-4, 0-1), and finished with 305 yards and three scores. Quinton Patton caught seven balls for 126 yards and a score.
The Bulldogs took a 6-0 lead when Nick Isham found Quinton Patton with a two- yard scoring pass with eight-and-a-half minutes left in the opening quarter.
The Warriors tied the game when Moniz found Pollard with a 27-yard scoring pass with just under seven minutes left in the period, and took a 13-6 lead when the two hooked upon a 13-yard connection five-and-a-half minutes later.
Moniz and Pollard connected a third time on a nine-yard pass with six-and-a- half minutes left in the first half to give Hawaii a 20-6 halftime lead.
The Bulldogs drew closer on Isham's seven-yard touchdown pass to Taulib Ikharo less than two minutes into the third quarter.
Moniz's fourth touchdown pass of the game, a six-yard throw to Billy Ray Stutzman, extended Hawaii's lead to 27-13 with nine-and-a-half minutes left in the third period. Less than two minutes later Richard Torres intercepted an Isham pass and took it 49 yard to the end zone.
The Bulldogs fumbled the ensuing kickoff and Tank Hopkins took it 16 yards to the end zone to extend the Louisiana Tech lead to 28 points at 41-13.
Louisiana Tech drew closer when Isham hit Lennon Creer on a 10-yard pass with six-and-a-half minutes left in the period.
Tyler Hadden booted a 30-yard field goal for the Warriors at the three-minute mark.
Isham finished the scoring when he ran four yards for a Louisiana Tech touchdown with eight minutes left in the game.
Hawaii had a big edge in time of possession, 36:13-23:47. Louisiana Tech was penalized 10 times for 80 yards.
