Ypsilanti, MI (Sports Network) - Javonti Greene scored two touchdowns as the Eastern Michigan Eagles topped the Western Michigan Broncos, 14-0, in a Mid- American Conference matchup at Rynearson Stadium.
Greene rushed 13 times for 61 yards and caught a touchdown pass as the Eagles (5-3, 3-1 MAC) won their fourth straight at home. Dominique Sherrer carried 11 times for 86 yards, while Alex Gillett was 6-of-9 through the air for 144 yards.
Alex Carder was 24-of-34 through the air for 181 yards for the Broncos (4-4, 2-2). He also rushed 12 times for 40 yards. Chleb Ravenell caught six balls for 70 yards in the team's second straight setback.
Following a scoreless first quarter, the hosts took a 7-0 lead when Gillett hit Greene with a 50-yard touchdown pass with 11:13 left in the second frame.
Tevin Drake's 46-yard run 2:35 into the third quarter lifted the Broncos into a 7-7 tie. Despite the lengthy run, Drake finished the afternoon with a mere 48 yards on 10 attempts.
WMU took the lead on John Potter's 37-yard field goal with 10:59 remaining in regulation.
Eastern Michigan regained the lead on Greene's 50-yard run with 7:46 left in the game.
Western Michigan was just 3-of-13 on third-down conversions. The Eagles had the edge in time of possession by more than five minutes.
