Mount Pleasant, MI (Sports Network) - Tyler Tettleton threw for 218 yards, two touchdowns and one interception and rushed for a score, leading the Ohio Bobcats to a 43-28 win over the Central Michigan Chippewas.
Beau Blankenship had a big day on the ground for Ohio (7-3, 4-2 MAC), rushing for 129 yards and two touchdowns, while LaVon Brazill and Jerry Gross caught touchdown passes.
Ryan Radcliff threw for 362 yards, three scores and one interception for Central Michigan (3-8, 2-5), while Courtney Williams caught six passes for 133 yards and a touchdown and Titus Davis also caught six balls for 110 yards and two scores.
Ohio jumped out to an early 7-0 lead on its first possession of the game when Tettleton led a seven-play, 80-yard drive and ran in untouched for a 14-yard touchdown.
On the Bobcats next possession, Tettleton hooked up with Brazill on a 63-yard touchdown pass to make it 14-0.
Central Michigan cut it to a one-score game when Radcliff connected with Davis for a 13-yard touchdown strike late in the opening quarter, but Ohio made it 17-7 as Matt Weller was true on a 48-yard field goal attempt early in the second stanza.
Radcliff brought his team within three, 17-14, with just over four minutes gone in the second quarter when he found Williams wide open over the middle for a 14-yard touchdown pass.
In the third quarter, Ohio extended its lead to 19-14 when Radcliff completed a pass to Zurlon Tipton, but he was brought down in the end zone for a safety with just under 12 minutes to go in the frame.
The Bobcats pushed their lead out to 26-14 when Tettleton connected with Gross for a six-yard touchdown strike with just over eight minutes to go in the quarter.
Weller was good from 32 yards out with just under two minutes to go in the third to make it 29-14.
Central Michigan got back into the game early in the fourth quarter when Tipton pushed his way into the end zone for a one-yard touchdown run to make it 29-21, capping a 10-play, 94-yard march.
The Bobcats added to their lead with a nine-play, 55-yard drive that ended with Blankenship powering into the end zone for a two-yard score to make it 36-21 with just over seven minutes to go in regulation.
The Chippewas kept battling, cutting the lead to 36-28 on the ensuing possession when Radcliff found Davis for a 16-yard strike with 4 1/2 minutes to go.
Blankenship struck again with just over two minutes to go in the game when he broke off a 48-yard sprint to paydirt, making it 43-28 and locking up the win for Ohio.
