The Vandals (2-8), losers of seven of their last eight outings, were paced by Princeton McCarty who posted 127 yards and a touchdown on 14 attempts. The passing attack was almost non-existent for the squad as Taylor Davis and Brian Reader combined to convert just 11-of-21 passes for 50 yards and a pair of interceptions.

BYU ripped off 42 straight points and never looked back, beginning with a 32- yard TD pass from Nelson to Cody Hoffman in the first quarter. Later in the period Kariya reached the end zone on a 17-yard run and later in the second quarter Kariya crossed the goal line again from a yards out to make the score 21-0.

With just 13 seconds remaining in the first half, Heaps locked up with Hoffman on a 21-yard TD pass play to give the home team a 28-0 edge at the break. Hoffman finished the night with six catches for 114 yards.

In the third quarter Michael Alisa raced 38 yards in the end zone, while Heaps hooked up with Ross Apo on an 18-yard TD pass to give the Cougars a huge 42-0 lead with 5:37 to play in the third quarter.

On the ensuing possession Idaho finally broke through when McCarty raced 82 yards to account for the only TD of the night for the visitors.

The Vandals entered the week ranked 115th in the nation in total offense with just 291.2 ypg and came in far below that mark with just 241 yards on Saturday.
