Corvallis, OR (Sports Network) - Sean Mannion threw for 339 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Oregon State Beavers to a 38-21 victory over the Washington Huskies in Pac-12 action at Reser Stadium.
Markus Wheaton recorded seven catches for 125 yards in the win for Oregon State (3-8, 3-5 Pac-12), and added 66 yards rushing on just three carries as well. Jovan Stevenson made the most of his 10 carries, scoring the team's last three TDs. James Rodgers had just four catches, for 48 yards and one TD, but still became the school's all-time leader in receptions with 222.
Chris Polk ran for 109 yards to lead Washington (6-5, 4-4) in the loss. The Huskies struggled offensively, managing just 315 total yards. Quarterback Nick Montana threw for a mere 79 yards with a pair of touchdowns in the setback, completing just 11 passes in the process.
A four-yard toss from Montana to Austin Seferian-Jenkins early in the opening stanza gave Washington a 7-0 lead.
The Beavers responded just under four minutes later with a six-yard Mannion strike to Rodgers.
The Beavers earned a 14-7 lead late in the frame following another six-yard toss from Mannion, this one to Micah Hatfield.
The Huskies tied the contest at 14-14 early in the second quarter on a five- yard pass from Montana to Seferian-Jenkins, the second for the duo.
A 24-yard kick by Trevor Romaine with just three seconds remaining in the half gave the Beavers a 17-14 advantage heading into the intermission.
After a quiet third quarter in which defense took over, the Beavers found the end zone again via a three-yard Stevenson run.
Following a Montana fumble, Stevenson hit paydirt again with a 15-yard scamper to give Oregon State a 31-14 lead.
The Huskies responded midway through the frame with a 20-yard scoring toss from Keith Prince to Devin Aguilar.
The Beavers added a one-yard scoring plunge from Stevenson late in the frame to represent the final score of the meeting.
