NCAA Game Summary - F-I-U at Florida Atlantic

Ft. Lauderdale, FL (Sports Network) - Alfred Morris ran for 96 yards and a touchdown to pace the Florida Atlantic Owls in a 21-9 win over the FIU Golden Panthers in a Sun Belt Conference showdown at Lockhart Stadium.

Willie Floyd added 93 yards and a score on the ground for FAU (2-5, 1-3 SBC), which snapped a five-game slide. Jeff VanCamp threw for 169 yards and a touchdown, while Lester Jean grabbed eight balls for 114 yards and a score.

Wes Carroll had a rough game under center for FIU (2-5, 2-1), as he threw for 210 yards with no touchdown and three interceptions. T.Y. Hilton snared eight of those passes for 124 yards, while Kedrick Rhodes paced the ground game with 100 yards on 14 carries.

FIU logged the only points of the opening quarter with a 39-yard field goal by Jack Griffin.

Griffin added to the Panthers' lead midway through the second quarter with a 35-yard boot.

The Owls, though, grabbed the lead heading into the break courtesy of a 20- yard touchdown pass from VanCamp to Jean.

Griffin put FIU back on top with a 26-yard kick early in the third quarter.

FAU, however, regained the lead for good when Morris scampered 16 yards to paydirt late in the third quarter.

A 65-yard touchdown run by Floyd midway through the fourth quarter sealed the 21-9 win for the Owls.
