Ypsilanti, MI (Sports Network) - Terrance Owens threw for 234 yards and four touchdowns, as the Toledo Rockets trounced the Eastern Michigan Eagles, 42-7, in a Mid-American Conference bout at Rynearson Stadium.
Owens completed 10-of-15 pass attempts for Toledo (6-3, 5-0 MAC), while Eric Page hauled in five balls for 86 yards and a touchdown. Page also threw a touchdown pass to complete a successful day.
Alex Gillett led the way for EMU (1-8, 1-4) by throwing for 170 yards and rushing for 50 more.
The Rockets jumped out quickly in this one, as Danny Noble hauled in a 74-yard touchdown pass from Owens. A successful two-point conversion gave Toledo an 8-0 lead after one period of play.
EMU got on the board in the second quarter with a Corey Welch one-yard run late in the frame.
The Rockets, though, regained the lead just before the half, as Owens and Noble hooked up on a six-yard scoring strike.
Later in the third quarter, Toledo extended its lead behind a 68-yard scoring pass from Owens to Thomas.
A 52-yard touchdown pass from Owens to Page moments later pushed Toledo's lead to 29-7.
The onslaught continued in the fourth quarter, when Page tossed a five-yard touchdown pass to David Pasquale.
The scoring concluded midway through the final quarter with a four-yard touchdown run by Toledo's Alex Pettee.
