Athens, OH (Sports Network) - Austin Dantin's 24-yard touchdown pass to Kenny Stafford a minute into the fourth quarter was the difference as the Toledo Rockets edged the Ohio Bobcats, 20-13, in a Mid-American Conference game at Peden Stadium.
Dantin was 12-of-15 through the air for the Rockets (1-1, 1-0 MAC) for 102 yards. He was picked twice, but did have a rushing touchdown. Eric Page caught seven balls for 54 yards, while Stafford reeked in three passes for 40 yards. Adonis Thomas ran for 53 yards on 17 carries.
Boo Jackson was 12-of-27 through the air for the Bobcats (1-1, 0-1) for 137 yards and a touchdown but was intercepted three times.
David Pasquale started the scoring for the Rockets with a two-yard run six minutes into the opening period.
Matt Weller responded for the Bobcats with a 49-yard field goal with three minutes left in the quarter.
Ohio took the lead on Jackson's 35-yard pass to Riley Dunlop with a minute to go in the first quarter but, Toledo regained the lead on Dantin's two- yard run seven minutes into the second quarter.
Weller's 23-yard field goal as time expired lifted the Bobcats into a 13-13 halftime tie.
The winning touchdown was the only score of the second half.
The two teams combined for just 395 yards in total offense. The Bobcats were limited to just 46 rushing yards.
The win was the 12th straight for Toledo over the Bobcats, who were trying for the 500th victory in their program's history.
