Chestnut Hill, MD (Sports Network) - Montel Harris ran for 114 yards and scored the go-ahead touchdown, as the Boston College Eagles notched a 17-13 win over the Virginia Cavaliers in ACC play at Alumni Stadium.
The win was the fourth in a row for the Eagles (6-5, 4-4 ACC), who are now bowl eligible for the 12th straight season. Andre Williams also went over the 100-yard mark with 108 rushing yards, while Chase Rettig threw for 152 yards on 10-of-19 passing.
Virginia (4-7, 1-6) has now lost three straight and remains winless on the road. Marc Verica threw for 284 yards and an interception on 31-of-39 passing.
Cavaliers' kicker Robert Randolph accounted for the only points of the first quarter with a 27-yard field goal, the end result of a 16-play, 78-yard drive.
BC's Nate Freese tied it at 3-3 on a 23-yard field goal to start the second quarter.
Virginia answered with another long drive, this time covering 60 yards in 13 plays as Perry Jones capitalized with a one-yard touchdown run.
The Eagles once again tied the score at 10-10 following a 39-yard touchdown pass from Rettig to Alex Amidon with 1:21 to play until halftime.
The Cavs got the ball and moved quickly down the field, setting up a 40-yard field goal by Randolph as time expired in the first half.
BC took a 17-13 lead on Montel Harris' four-yard touchdown run with just under three minutes to play in the third quarter, and the Eagles' defense shut the door the rest of the way.
Harris, who has notched eight 100-yard rushing games on the year, exited the game with a left knee injury after moving into second place on the school's all-time rushing list.
