With just 1:43 remaining in the first half Bullock's 39-yard field goal conversion made the score 6-6, which is where it stood at the break.

In the third frame FIU registered a pair of touchdowns as Darriet Perry hit the end zone on a one yard run and Anthony Gaitor was credited with a 54-yard interception return for a touchdown to give the visitors a 20-6 advantage heading into the final quarter.
