The Aggies struck first in this one, as Turbin found the end zone following a six-yard run early in the opening period of play.

The Aggies took a 14-0 lead into the break with a 35-yard Turbin run late in the second quarter.

SJSU finally got on the board midway through the third period with a two-yard plunge by Lamon Muldrow. A two-point conversion attempt failed.

The Spartans then pulled to within 14-9 late in the frame with a 31-yard Tyler Cope field goal.

But the Aggies responded with 10 unanswered points in the final stanza, beginning with a 40-yard Chris Ulinski kick. A six-yard run from Speight just minutes later gave Utah State a 24-9 advantage and accounted for the final score of the contest.
