NCAA Game Summary - Miami-Ohio at Western Michigan

Kalamazoo, MI (Sports Network) - Tim Hiller threw four touchdown passes to power the Western Michigan Broncos to a 48-26 romp over the Miami-Ohio RedHawks in the Mid-American Conference opener for both teams.

Brandon West carried the ball 18 times for 91 yards and a score for Western Michigan (1-2, 1-0 MAC).

Daniel Raudabaugh connected on 25-of-42 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in defeat for Miami-Ohio (0-3, 0-1).

Western Michiganmade an immediate impact, as Jamail Berry recovered a fumble and raced 24 yards for a touchdown just seven seconds into the contest.

The Broncos then extended their lead to 14-0 on a 10-yard touchdown pass from Hiller to Juan Nunez.

Western Michigan scored two more touchdowns in the second quarter to grab a 28-0 lead by halftime. Hiller threw a one-yard scoring strike to Blake Hammond and a 16-yarder to Nunez.

With 9:37 left in the third quarter, the Broncos extended their advantage to 35-0 on a one-yard touchdown run by West.

Miami finally got on the scoreboard with 7:09 remaining in that third stanza on a 14-yard touchdown pass from Daniel Raudabaugh to Eugene Harris. Unfortunately, the extra point attempt was blocked, making the score 35-6.

Hiller threw a seven-yard touchdown pass to West with 4:36 remaining in the third quarter, and Aaron Winchester had a one-yard touchdown run for the Broncos less than a minute later. At that point, the score stood at 48-6.

Miami scored three touchdowns in the final 16:06 of the contest to make the final score a bit more respectable. Raudabaugh had a 42-yard scoring strike to Evan Harris, and Roman Lawson had a two-yard touchdown run. Jordan Stevens capped the scoring with an 11-yard pass from Zac Dysert.

Western Michigan won the time of possession battle by almost 10 minutes despite finishing with fewer total yards than Miami.
