NCAA Game Summary - Arkansas State at Florida Atlantic

Fort Lauderdale, FL (Sports Network) - Jeff Vancamp threw for 242 yards and three touchdowns to power the Florida Atlantic Owls to a 35-18 victory over the Arkansas State Red Wolves in Sun Belt Conference action.

Alfred Morris rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns for Florida Atlantic (3-6, 3-2 SBC).

Ryan Aplin passed for 168 yards and one touchdown in defeat for Arkansas State (2-7, 1-4).

The first points of the game came on a 21-yard touchdown run by FAU's Morris with 10:36 remaining in the first quarter.

Before the end of the first quarter, Arkansas State managed to cut its deficit to 7-6 on a pair of Josh Arauco field goals from 35 and 19 yards out.

The Red Wolves scored the only points of the second quarter on a 22-yard Arauco field goal, and they led 9-7 at intermission.

Florida Atlantic took control of the tilt in the third quarter, as a seven- yard touchdown run by Morris was followed less than five minutes later by a 10-yard touchdown pass from Vancamp to William Rose. At that point, the Owls owned a 21-9 advantage.

Early in the fourth quarter, Rice pushed its edge to 28-9 on a 52-yard touchdown pass from Vancamp to Jason Harmon.

Arauco hit his fourth field goal of the game with 8:18 remaining, this one from 21 yards out, but the Red Wolves still trailed by a 28-12 margin. They scored their only touchdown with 42 seconds left, as Aplin tossed a four- yard pass to Taylor Stockemer. The ensuing two-point conversion attempt failed, bringing the score to its final of 35-18.
