Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Jake Locker completed 16-of-28 pass attempts for 196 yards and a score, and carried the ball 10 times for 94 yards and a touchdown, to lead the Washington Huskies to a 30-0 route of the Washington State Cougars in a Pac-10 showdown at Husky Stadium.
Chris Polk fueled the Washington (4-7, 3-5 Pac-10) ground attack, carrying the ball 25 times for 130 yards and a touchdown.
The Cougars (1-11, 0-9), who stumbled on both sides of the ball, were paced by Dwight Tardy who carried the ball 14 times for 37 yards.
After a slow start to the game, Washington got on the board in the closing minutes of the first quarter when Erik Folk drilled a 24-yard field goal.
The Huskies made it a 10-0 game early in the second quarter when Locker hooked up with Jermaine Kearse for a 50-yard touchdown strike.
Folk extended the Huskies lead late in the second quarter on a 46-yard field goal to give his team a 13-0 advantage at the half.
The Huskies continued their dominance midway through the third quarter when Polk pounded his way into the end-zone from one yard out to make it a 20-0 contest.
Washington made it a 23-0 contest early in the fourth quarter when Folk nailed a 27-yard field goal.
Locker put the final nail in the coffin midway through the final quarter when he raced 15 yards to the end zone to secure the 30-0 victory.
With the win Washington takes home the coveted Apple Cup, breaking its two- game losing streak to WSU.
