(Saturday, November 21st) Final Score: UCLA 23, Arizona State 13 Pasadena, CA (Sports Network) - Kai Forbath kicked three field goals and Bruins' defense scored two touchdowns, as UCLA topped the Arizona State Sun Devils, 23-13, in Pac-10 action at the Rose Bowl. Alterraun Verner returned an interception for a touchdown and Akeem Ayers scored on a fumble return for the Bruins (6-5, 3-5 Pac-10), who won their third game in a row and became bowl-eligible. Kevin Prince threw for 161 yards on 15-of-31 pass attempts in the win, while Chane Moline rushed for 84 yards on 25 carries. Samson Szakacsy led the way for ASU (4-7, 2-6), throwing for 197 yards and two scores on 15-of-22 tosses. Kyle Williams was his main target with six receptions for 128 yards and two scores, as the Sun Devils suffered their fifth straight loss. UCLA jumped out to a quick lead, as Verner returned an interception 68 yards just over three minutes into the game. The Sun Devils countered late in the opening half behind a 35-yard scoring strike from Szakacsy to Williams. Forbath put the Bruins back on top for good with a 22-yard field goal midway through the second quarter. The defense then got involved again, as Ayers took a fumble nine yards to paydirt. A 20-yard field goal on the last play by Forbath gave the Bruins a 20-7 lead at the break. Following a scoreless third quarter, Forbath hit a 25-yard field goal to extend UCLA's lead to 23-7. ASU responded quickly, as Williams snared a 70-yard touchdown pass from Szakacsy. The two-point try failed and the Sun Devils wouldn't be heard from again in the loss.
