NCAA Game Summary - Stanford at Arizona

Tucson, AZ (Sports Network) - Nick Foles completed 40-of-51 passes for 415 yards and three touchdowns as the Arizona Wildcats came from behind to defeat the Stanford Cardinal, 43-38, in a Pac-10 thriller.

Juron Criner made 12 catches for 152 yards for Arizona (4-2, 2-1 Pac-10).

Andrew Luck passed for 423 yards and three scores in defeat for Stanford (4-3, 3-2), which got 123 rushing yards and two touchdowns from Toby Gerhart.

Stanford held a 38-29 lead heading into the fourth quarter, but Arizona scored a pair of unanswered touchdowns in that final frame to claim the win. Greg Nwoko ripped off a 43-yard scoring scamper with 10:06 remaining, and Nic Grigsby added the game-winning 57-yard touchdown run with just under three minutes on the clock.

Arizona scored first in the ball game, as Robert Golden intercepted a pass and raced 79 yards for a touchdown with 12:31 left on the first quarter clock.

Stanford answered immediately, as Luck threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Jim Dray two minutes later to tie the score at 7-7.

Foles put Arizona up 13-7 with a 43-yard touchdown pass to David Douglas, but the extra point attempt was blocked.

That allowed Stanford to grab a 14-13 advantage on Gerhart's two-yard scoring plunge in the final minute of the opening period.

The Cardinal extended their advantage to 28-13 with a pair of second-quarter touchdowns. Luck tossed an 11-yard scoring strike to Ryan Whalen and a 19-yard pass to Chris Owusu.

Just before intermission, Arizona cut its deficit to 28-20 with an 11-yard touchdown pass from Foles to Terrell Turner.

In the third quarter, the team's traded a field goal and a touchdown apiece, bringing the score to 38-29 after 45 minutes of action and setting up the Wildcats' come-from-behind win.

Stanford lost despite a 584-553 edge in total yardage.
