Honolulu, HI (Sports Network) - John Clay rushed for 172 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Wisconsin Badgers to a 51-10 victory over the Hawaii Warriors in a non-conference battle at Aloha Stadium.
Montee Ball added 78 yards and one score on the ground for Wisconsin (9-3), while Scott Tolzien scored a rushing touchdown and finished with 253 passing yards.
Bryant Moniz threw for 197 yards and one touchdown for Hawaii (6-7), which saw its four-game winning streak come to an end.
The Badgers opened the scoring with a two-yard touchdown run by Clay early in the opening frame.
Wisconsin pushed its lead to 14-0 when David Gilreath scored on an eight-yard run late in the first quarter.
A one-yard touchdown run by Tolzien early in the second stanza extended Wisconsin's lead to 21-0.
The Warriors finally got on the scoreboard midway through the second stanza when Scott Enos connected on a 45-yard field goal.
Wisconsin continued to pour it on however, as Clay found the end zone for a second time, as he scored on a three-yard run in the final seconds of the first half. However, the extra point was missed, leaving Wisconsin with a 27-3 lead at the break.
The only points in the third quarter were produced by Clay, who scored on a 15-yard scamper, pushing Wisconsin's lead to 34-3.
Philip Welch added a 33-yard field goal for the Badgers midway through the fourth quarter.
Moniz completed a two-yard scoring strike to Jovonte Taylor late in the final quarter, but it was far too late for Hawaii to make a legitimate comeback.
The Badgers scored the final two touchdowns of the contest however, as Ball scampered into the end zone on a 35-yard run, while Dustin Sherer added an 11- yard rushing score with less than two minutes remaining in regulation.
