NCAA Game Summary - Bowling Green at Boise State

Boise, ID (Sports Network) - Ian Johnson scored a pair of rushing touchdowns as the Boise State Broncos posted a 20-7 win over the Bowling Green Falcons in non-conference action at Bronco Stadium.

Johnson carried the ball 13 times to arrive at his game-high 97 yards for the Broncos (2-0) while quarterback Kellen Moore converted 18-of-23 passing for 180 yards for the home team as well.

The Falcons (1-2) were led by Tyler Sheehan who hit on 21-of-34 for 200 yards, but was sacked twice and picked off once in the setback.

The first score of the contest came on a one-yard run by BSU's Moore in the first quarter, capping a 12-play, 76-yard drive by the Broncos with just under four minutes remaining in the opening frame. Failing on the PAT attempt, Boise State was left with a 6-0 edge.

Johnson's rushing TDs of one and six yards in the second quarter boosted the BSU advantage to 20-0, which is where the score stood heading into halftime.

Following a scoreless third quarter, tight end Jimmy Scheidler reeled in a four-yard touchdown toss by wideout Freddie Barnes, capping the night's scoring and finishing a 13-play, 52-yard drive for the visitors with just over 11 minutes to play.

Bowling Green, which converted 3-of-3 on fourth-down plays, was a mere 6-of-17 on third-down attempts on the night and generated 307 yards on 72 offensive plays. The Broncos ran 16 fewer plays, yet still managed to come up with 340 yards in the victory.
