(Saturday, November 22nd) Final Score: Rice 35, Marshall 10 Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Chase Clement threw for 315 yards and four touchdowns, as the Rice Owls upended the Marshall Thundering Herd, 35-10, in a Conference USA matchup at Rice Stadium. Clement is now Conference USA's all-time leader in touchdown passes (89) and total touchdowns (114). Jarett Dillard finished with six catches for 88 yards and two touchdowns for Rice (8-3, 6-1 C-USA). Darius Marshall paced the Herd (4-7, 3-4) with 118 rushing yards on 24 carries. Clement put the Owls on top, 7-0 on a 12-yard touchdown scamper with 11:42 remaining in the first quarter. Marshall tied the score on the first play of the second quarter, as Mark Cann connected with Cody Slate for a nine-yard touchdown pass. The Owls offense found its rhythm in the second half. Clement threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to Dillard at the 12:23 mark of the third quarter to put Rice ahead, 14-7. Later in the third quarter, Clement threw a five-yard touchdown pass to Toren Dixon to make it a 21-7 game. Marshall kicker Craig Ratanamorn kicked a 36-yard field goal in the final minute of the third quarter. But Clement put the game away with two TD passes in the fourth quarter; a 44- yarder to Corbin Smiter and a 13-yarder to Dillard.
