NCAA Game Summary - Middle Tennessee at Louisville

Louisville, KY (Sports Network) - Victor Anderson ran for 161 yards and a touchdown on just 19 carries to lead the Louisville Cardinals to an impressive 42-23 victory over the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders in a non-conference matchup at Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium.

Louisville quarterback Hunter Cantwell completed 14-of-22 pass attempts for 144 yards and a touchdown to pace the Cardinals (4-2), while Brock Bolen rumbled for three touchdowns to go with a 67 yard rushing effort in the win.

Joe Craddock threw for 152 yards and a score to lead Middle Tennessee (2-5) in the loss, and Phillip Tanner ran for 46 yards while grabbing three passes for 37 yards and a touchdown for the Blue Raiders.

The Blue Raiders struck first in this one, as Jeremy Kellem took an interception back 14 yards for a touchdown early in the first quarter.

Middle Tennessee extended its advantage midway through the period with a 39- yard toss from Patrick Honeycutt to Tanner.

The Cardinals got on the board late in the frame following a three-yard run from Bolen.

An 88-yard scamper from Anderson early in the second period tied the contest at 14.

But the Blue Raiders took a 17-14 lead into the break with an Alan Gendreau 42-yard field goal.

A one-yard plunge from Bolen midway through the third quarter gave the Cardinals a 21-17 lead.

Bolen added another one-yard score early in the final stanza to push Louisville's lead to 28-17.

A blocked punt by Louisville resulted in a touchdown by Johnny Patrick less than two minutes later, and the Cardinals lead ballooned to 35-17.

A one-yard toss from Cantwell to Johnnie Burns late in the frame extended the Louisville advantage to 42-17.

Craddock hit Malcom Beyah with a 16-yard strike with under a minute remaining to account for the final score of the contest.
