NCAA Game Summary - Arkansas State at Texas A&M

College Station, TX (Sports Network) - Reggie Arnold ran for 145 yards on 21 carries to pace the Arkansas State Red Wolves in an 18-14 upset of the Texas A&M Aggies at Kyle Field.

Quarterback Corey Leonard threw for 160 yards and a score during the Arkansas State (1-0) victory and gained 86 yards on the ground with 17 attempts.

Mike Goodson rushed for 124 yards and two scores to lead Texas A&M (0-1), but quarterback Stephen McGee tallied just 170 yards through the air and was intercepted twice.

The Red Wolves struck first, as Josh Arauco connected on a 37-yard field goal midway through the opening quarter.

The Aggies responded late in the frame, however, taking a 7-3 lead on a nine- yard scamper by Goodson.

Goodson found the end zone again late in the second period and gave the Aggies a 14-3 lead on a seven-yard dash.

The Red Wolves trailed, 14-9, after a pair of field goals (28 and 25 yards) during the third quarter from Arauco.

Leonard completed a 15-yard scoring strike to Kevin Jones late in the fourth quarter to give Arkansas State a 15-14 lead.

Arauco tacked on a 37-yard field goal for the Red Wolves with under two minutes remaining in the contest and they would hold on for the surprising 18-14 victory.

Arkansas State racked up 255 yards on the ground compared to just 133 yards by Texas A&M.
