Stillwater, OK (Sports Network) - Zac Robinson threw for 254 yards and three touchdowns to pace the Oklahoma State Cowboys in a 55-24 romp of the Troy Trojans in non-league play.
Robinson hit on 16-of-21 pass attempts and also rushed for 39 yards, as OSU (4-0) won its 14th straight home game over a non-conference opponent. Dez Bryant was his main outlet, pulling down six balls for 118 yards and all three scores. Kendall Hunter headed the ground game with 169 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries, while Keith Toston added 114 yards and a pair of scores on 17 totes.
For Troy (2-2), Jamie Hampton passed for 253 yards and three touchdowns on 24- of-45 tosses. He was picked off twice, but did lead the team with 54 rushing yards on nine attempts. Kennard Burton hauled in seven passes for 65 yards, and Jerrel Jernigan had six receptions for 58 yards and a score in the setback.
OSU opened the game's scoring with a 16-yard touchdown pass from Robinson to Bryant just over five minutes into the first quarter.
With 29 seconds left in the first frame, the Cowboys extended their lead behind a four-yard touchdown run by Hunter.
Bryant snared a 26-yard touchdown pass from Robinson midway through the second quarter, giving OSU a 21-0 lead.
Troy responded just over two minutes later with a five-yard touchdown pass from Hampton to Austin Silvoy.
OSU countered on the ensuing drive, as Bryant pulled down a 44-yard scoring strike from Robinson.
Following a 47-yard field goal by Troy's Sam Glusman, Hunter scampered 17 yards for a score to give OSU a 35-10 lead at the intermission.
Toston plunged one-yard for a score midway though the third quarter, as the Cowboys continued to pour it on.
The Trojans showed some life when Jernigan grabbed a 12-yard touchdown pass from Hampton.
Dan Bailey connected on 22-yard field goal and OSU led 45-17 heading into the final frame.
Less than a minute into the fourth quarter, Troy struck courtesy of a 15-yard touchdown pass from Hampton to Fred Turner.
Bailey hit a 19-yard field goal and Toston scored on a 16-yard run late in the game to give OSU the 55-24 win.
The Cowboys rolled up 612 yards of total offense in the win, the eighth highest total in school history.
