Lincoln, NE (Sports Network) - Joe Ganz threw for 336 yards and three touchdown passes to lead the Nebraska Cornhuskers to a 32-20 victory over the Baylor Bears in a Big 12 Conference clash at Memorial Stadium.
Ganz completed 32-of-46 of his passes to pace Nebraska (5-3, 2-2 Big 12) in the win, while Marlon Lucky ran for 83 yards and a score to go with a three- catch, 82-yard effort. Nate Swift hauled in 11 passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns for the Cornhuskers.
Robert Griffin ran for 121 yards and a score on just 16 carries to lead Baylor (3-5, 1-3) in the losing effort, while Jay Finley added 88 yards and a touchdown of his own on the ground for the Bears.
The Cornhuskers struck first, as Ganz completed a six-yard strike to Ryan Hill to give Nebraska a 7-0 lead midway through the opening period.
But the Bears responded less than a minute later, as Finley broke free for a 43-yard run.
The Bears took a 14-7 lead late in the frame with a 47-yard scamper from Griffin.
Nebraska added an Alex Henery 27-yard field goal midway through the second quarter to trail 14-10, and took a 17-14 lead just minutes later with an 18- yard run from Lucky.
Baylor responded with less than a minute to play in the half, taking a 20-17 lead into the break following a one-yard plunge from Jacoby Jones.
Ganz gave Nebraska the lead again late in the third quarter with a nine-yard toss to Swift.
Ganz found Swift yet again early in the final period of play, a 53-yard strike that gave the Cornhuskers a 30-20 lead following a missed extra point.
The Cornhuskers would seal the victory midway through the frame by recording a safety.
