(Thursday, November 13th)

Final Score: Miami-Florida 16, Virginia Tech 14

Miami Gardens, FL (Sports Network) - Matt Bosher booted three straight field goals to help propel the Miami Hurricanes to a narrow 16-14 win over the Virginia Tech Hokies in ACC action at Dolphin Stadium.

Bosher converted kicks of 21, 31 and 23 yards between the third and fourth quarters for the Hurricanes (7-3, 4-2 ACC), as they won their fifth straight outing and moved into sole possession of first place in the Coastal Division of the ACC. Robert Marve and Jacory Harris combined to convert 8- of-18 passing for 124 yards, with the former surviving four sacks on the night.

The Hokies (6-4, 3-3) were paced by Tyrod Taylor, who scored a pair of rushing touchdowns, yet generated just 43 yards rushing and 75 yards passing in the team's third loss in the last four contests.

Miami scored the only points of the first quarter as Javarris James hit the end zone on a three-yard run, capping a lengthy 12-play, 76-yard drive for the home team.

Taylor's first TD of the game, a 14-yard scamper in the second quarter, knotted the score at 7-7, which is where the teams stood at the break.

On the first possession of the third quarter, Bosher knocked through his first field goal of the night, following that up with two more to give Miami a 16-7 lead early in the fourth frame.

Taylor's six-yard TD run at the 3:28 mark of the final stanza was all the Hokies had left in the two-point setback.

Tech was limited to a total of just 77 yards rushing on 38 attempts, converted a mere 2-of-11 on third down and failed on both fourth-down opportunities.
