NCAA Game Summary - Rice at Oakland

Rochester, MI (Sports Network) - Reggie Hamilton scored a game-high 30 points, leading four starters in double figures, as Oakland downed Rice, 77-70, in the quarterfinals of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament at the O'rena.
Hamilton, the nation's leading scorer with 26.1 ppg, knocked down all 14 of his free-throw attempts for the Golden Grizzlies (20-15), adding four rebounds and four assists for the hosts. Corey Petros accounted for 16 points, Drew Valentine 13 and Ryan Bass 10 points in the victory.
The Owls (19-16) were paced by Tamir Jackson who tallied 16 points, although he made just one of his six three-point attempts and was 6-of-18 from the floor overall in the setback. Dylan Ennis chipped in 14 points, five assists and three blocked shots.
Oakland scored the first points of the night and never looked back, converting 56.7 percent from the floor and 10-of-12 at the free-throw line in the first half in order to post a 48-30 lead at the break.
In the second half the Grizzlies struggled, missing all seven chances out on the perimeter and connecting on a total of just seven field goals, but the team saved face by outscoring the Owls at the charity stripe, 15-4, in order to grab the win.
With the victory the Golden Grizzlies, who outscored Rice at the free-throw line 25-7, now move on to the semifinals of the tournament where they will clash with an opponent yet to be determined.
