NCAA Game Summary - CS-Bakersfield at Utah State

Logan, UT (Sports Network) - Preston Medlin scored 24 points, dished out six assists and brought down five rebounds in leading the Utah State Aggies to a 75-69 triumph over the CS-Bakersfield Roadrunners in the first round of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
Kyisean Reed added 16 points and eight boards while Morgan Grim and Brockeith Pane each add 15 points for Utah State (18-15) which will begin the kick off the second round of the CIT with by hosting Idaho on Friday night.
Zachary Lamb poured in 31 points while Tyrone White added 12 off the bench for CS-Bakersfield (16-15) which was making it's first ever appearance in the postseason since moving up to Division I during the 2006-2007 season.
Utah State led 37-25 at intermission after dominating in the first half. The Aggies connected on 52.0 percent of their shots in the opening period while holding CS-Bakersfield to just 33.3 percent shooting. The Aggies lead was stretched out even further by a 12-2 edge on second chance points.
The Roadrunners didn't back down in the second half and rallied with a 14-0 run to take its first lead of the game, 48-46, midway through the period. Utah State went on a 6-0 spurt after that to go up 52-48 and would never trail again the rest of the game although the Roadrunners kept it close trailing by as little as two points in the final minute.
Cs-Bakersfield kept itself in the game by collecting 17 takeaways and outscoring Utah State 24-16 on points off of turnovers. Utah State held a 36-32 edge on the boards and outscored the Roadrunners 34-24 on points in the paint.
