San Luis Obispo, CA (Sports Network) - David Hanson registered a double-double with 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds as Cal Poly picked up a 69-56 win over UC Davis in Big West Conference play at Mott Gym.
The Mustangs (16-14, 7-8 Big West) also got double-digit performances from Dylan Royer and Chris Eversley who chipped in 14 and 13 points, respectively, as the team snapped a three-game slide.
The Aggies (5-24, 3-12), losers of two of the last three, were paced by J.T. Adenrele who tallied 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor before fouling out. Josh Ritchart was limited to a mere three points as he made just one of his eight field goal tries.
UC Davis made a mere seven field goals in the first half, missing all 11 attempts behind the three-point line, leaving the visitors with a 33-18 deficit at the break. Cal Poly came up empty on the perimeter as well (0- of-2), but the squad still made good on 46.2 percent from the floor.
The Aggies battled back in the second half with an impressive 59.3 percent shooting effort, but at the same time the hosts connected on 54.2 percent from the field to keep the game out of reach.
Cal Poly easily won the battle of the boards, 37-24, and outscored the visitors at the charity stripe, 15-6.
